Kesari is eight timber bungalows scattered under the palms at the northern end of Haad Yao, on the west coast of Koh Phangan. There is no reception desk theatre and no lobby music, just a handful of rooms, a shaded pool a few steps from the sand, and a bay that turns the colour of green glass every afternoon.
We built the place slowly, with local carpenters, using teak and reclaimed hardwood so every bungalow feels warm rather than resort-generic. Days here follow the tide: a swim before the heat, fresh fruit and strong coffee on your veranda, an hour in the hanging chair with a book, and a long, easy sunset that Haad Yao is quietly famous for.
You are close to everything and far from the noise. The dive shops, beach bars and morning market of Haad Yao village are a five-minute stroll along the sand, while the full-moon end of the island stays a comfortable, deliberate half-hour away. Come for a few nights; most guests end up rebooking before they leave.

Our cosiest room, all warm timber panelling, tucked into the frangipani garden a short path back from the beach.

A little more space and light, with a wide window framing the garden and a proper desk for the working-from-anywhere crowd.

Front row on the sand, with your own hanging chair and an uninterrupted line to the sunset. The one everybody remembers.
“The Beachfront Suite is exactly what the photos promise and somehow more. We watched the sunset from the hanging chair every single night. Nok and the team feel like family by day two.”
“Small, quiet, spotlessly clean and right on the best part of the beach. The coffee at breakfast is genuinely excellent. Booked three nights, stayed nine.”
“Perfect base for working remotely, fast Wi-Fi in the cabin, air-con that actually works, and a two-minute walk to dinner. I got so much done and still felt on holiday.”
“Booked direct over WhatsApp in ten minutes, no fuss, no commission nonsense. They arranged our pier transfer and a snorkelling trip. Haad Yao sunsets are unreal.”
